He meets Winter who has the power to freeze any object whether alive, dead, or in Foo, a dream. Leven will also meet a talking toothpick and many people who wish to have him killed. Leven learns he had a grandfather who figured a way to cross in and out of Foo as he pleased and now it’s Leven’s responsibility to destroy the gateway before Sabine destroys both Reality and Foo. Despite the danger, both worlds depend on Leven and he doesn’t understand why fate chose him.
Leven learns that Foo is where dreams come from and without Foo; there will be no dreams in Reality. Throughout this book Leven learns more and more about a world he never knew existed and how it’s his responsibility to save this world and Reality.
Magical creatures that could only come from dreams live in Foo and some believe that Leven and Winter are traitors because many of Foo’s people have come to join Sabine.
